ShelfLife TV Interview for
Award-winning novel,
Drawers & Booths
Writer’s Digest gives Drawers & Booths 18 out of 20 points.

The opening of Drawers & Booths is “compelling and draws the
reader into the story. It’s a well-researched story; the author’s
experience clearly shows.” Ara 13 has a voice that’s “cynical and
world-weary, and strangely intriguing.”

Ara 13 Bio
Review
Fiction: A Novel, Ara 13, CovingtonMoore - This book, a cross between Joseph Conrad and P.G Wodehouse, was an
absolute delight. A missionary solemnly looks for cannibals to convert while other, non- cannibal villagers watch his
antics with a deadpan incredulity. They see their world and this follower of biblical teachings through a belief system
that is informed by their own sacred text; it isn't the bible, but it might be familiar… There is a refreshing logic to their
experience: "I liked him better when he could only listen well in our language. Now that he speaks it he has lost all his
abilities to communicate." The author sustains lengthy notes of humor with a rigorous logic and a whimsical charm.

Book Bloggers Choose Fiction by Ara 13 in Top Ten of 2009
Fiction has a lot to say, and it takes a heady mind to process just what the message is at times;
but that doesn't detract from the fact that, a lot of the time, it's just a heck of a lot of fun to read.
The Trades Review of Fiction
... if you're interested by a story that is approached with wit, satire, irony, cynicism, and some
arrogance while asking questions of morality, the conventions of literature, and belief then I advise
trying Drawers & Booths out, even if you aren't familiar with metafiction.
Book Love Affair reviews Drawers & Booths
... were I a corporate head honcho at, say, FSG, Random House, Putnam, Viking,
Scribners, etc. et al., one of the Big Boys on the hunt for the Next Big Thing, I'd be
saying hup-2 pronto, Ara 13, sign right here on the dotted line.
Enrique Freeque, Active Library Thing Book Blogger
Fiction is not like the novels being published
today, notably because it happens to be a good
read that does not dumb itself down for the
audience.
I found myself slowing down in
parts and rereading them just for
enjoyment sake, but also because
the ideas alone interested me.

Novel Journey Interview
I can honestly say that this is one of the most unique books I've ever read.
Bookopolis Review of Drawers & Booths
Under a less skilled hand, "Drawers & Booths" could have been an indulgent exercise in
preciousness and self-righteousness. However, Ara 13 checks his agenda at the door. Consistently
steering clear of easy answers, he raises the possibilities of metafiction to a new level.

"Drawers & Booths" is an exciting debut by an author who is one to watch.
Laura Axelrod of GASP! reviews Drawers & Booths
I am so glad I agreed to review it because it is truly the most creatively
written book I have read in awhile.

Overall, Drawers & Booths is not only a roundabout exercise of the intellect, but
a humorous and wholly unpredictable story that continuously builds upon itself.
